Norani Qaida

Course Overview

The “Norani Qaida” course is designed as the foundational program for students who are beginning their journey of learning to read the Quran. This course introduces students to the basic rules of Arabic pronunciation, helping them recognize and correctly pronounce the Arabic letters and sounds. By the end of this course, students will be well-prepared to start reading the Quran with proper Tajweed (rules of Quranic recitation).

Course Objectives

To teach students the correct pronunciation of Arabic letters and sounds.
To help students recognize and pronounce vowels (Fatha, Kasra, Dhamma) and other diacritical marks used in Arabic.
To enable students to form simple Arabic words and phrases.

Course Outline

Introduction to Norani Qaida

Overview of the importance of Norani Qaida as the first step in learning to read the Quran.
Introduction to the Arabic alphabet.

Learning the Arabic Alphabet

Identification and pronunciation of individual Arabic letters.
Practice exercises for recognizing letters in various forms (isolated, initial, medial, and final).

Vowels and Diacritical Marks

Introduction to short vowels (Fatha, Kasra, Dhamma) and their pronunciation.
Practice combining letters with short vowels to form syllables.

Sukun, Tanween, and Shaddah:

Understanding the concept of Sukun (a mark indicating a consonant without a vowel) and how to pronounce it.
Learning Tanween (nunation) and its application in reading.
Introduction to Shaddah (a mark indicating a double consonant) and its correct pronunciation.

Connecting Letters to Form Words

Practice connecting letters to form simple words.
Reading words with various vowel marks and understanding their meanings.

Introduction to Basic Tajweed Rules

Introduction to the rules of elongation (Madd) and its application in reading.
Basic rules for proper pronunciation and recitation of Quranic text.
