Course Objectives

  • To make youth confident in recitation while leading the Salaat.
  • To master the rules of Tajweed for proper Quranic recitation.
  • To improve the pronunciation, fluency, and beauty of Quranic recitation.
  • To develop an understanding of the phonetic principles underlying Tajweed rules.

  • What is Tajweed? Definition and importance of Tajweed in Quranic recitation.
  • History of Tajweed: Historical development and significance of Tajweed rules.
  • Basic Principles: Overview of the fundamental principles of Tajweed.
    • Introduction to Makharij: Understanding the concept of articulation points.
    • Detailed Study: Learning the specific articulation points for each Arabic letter.
  • Sifaat al-Huruf (Characteristics of Letters): Introduction & Meaning.
  • Practice Sessions: Exercises to identify and pronounce each letter correctly.
  • Basic Rules: Introduction to the rules governing Noon Sakinah and Tanween.
  • Idgham, Iqlab, Ikhfa, Izhar: Detailed study of each rule with examples.
  • Practice Sessions: Exercises to apply these rules in recitation
  • Introduction: Understanding the rules for Meem Sakinah.
  • Ikhfa Shafawi, Idgham Shafawi, Izhar Shafawi: Detailed study of each rule.
